    HOW CLAUDE Makelele CHANGED English FOOTBALL To my surprise, there was no Makelele thread in the archives when I searched. The official site posted a small tribute to Maka, a player I personally consider as one of the best and most elite players in football history. Only fitting that a thread is made in his name. He played in one of the best teams we have had, but the guy himself was one of the major reasons why it was one of the best. Probably lifted the careers of both JT and Lampard like no other player could have. I love Kante, but the comparisons with Makelele are lazy and do not do either justice. Makelele was unique, and simply a different breed in my view. Would love to hear the views of the Chelsea fans on how they viewed Makelele.
