Some recommendations:

Titus Andronicus - The Monitor - Probably my favourite album of the year so far. Somehow an album based on the American Civil war, made up mostly of songs 7-8 minutes long, is the most fun thing I've heard in ages.

Magic Man - Real Life Colour - Available for free here. Highly recommended.

Arms - EP - Ex-members of Harlem Shakes and, in my opinion, just as good. Get it free here

Just getting into 'Animals as Leaders'. Jeez, that Tosin Abasi can't 'arf play!

You couldn't dance to it though!

I'll be going to see Reef in April and The Black Keys in June both in London.

Have you heard the Black Keys hiphop project BlakRoc?

Well, they're on a different level to everyone else. They're probably the most critically acclaimed metal band on the planet, with an absolutely huge cult following. They didn't get their own gig at the most prestigious concert hall in the country for nothing ;)

They've never been played on the radio or shown on TV. Opeth's fame was earned completely on merit and hard work, churning out albums and non-stop touring for 20 years. I think they're the finest band in the world right now.

Saw them a couple of years ago playing with Paradise Lost. Truly talented band at home either producing melodic masterpieces or intense music. Hope you enjoyed gig.

BTW, fan of early Anathema? Silent Enigma worth a listen.

Heard Rza (Wu-Tang) was on this recording - but not heard anything from it as yet.

Got 'The black keys' new album - IMO, not as good as the previous stuff
