Squad Numbers For Next Season

Recommended Posts

Now we seem to virtually have all our squad for next season, I was wondering about wha the squad numbers would be.

Here's what I think (provided the Malouda and Alex deals come off)....

1 Cech

2 Johnson

3 A.Cole

4 Makelele

5 Essien

6 Carvalho

7 Shevchenko

8 Lampard

9 Malouda

10 J. Cole

11 Drogba

12 Mikel

13 Ballack

14 Pizarro

15 Sidwell

16 Robben

17 Alex

18 Bridge

19 Diarra

20 Ferreria

21 Kalou

22 Ben Haim

23 Cudicini

24 Wright-Phillips

26 Terry

40 Hilario

SWP will stay, Boulharouz will leave. A squad of 26 players which given 4 will be away in January and the number of injuries we had last season is excellent. As strong a squad as we've had.

Have any information abou Boulharouz?

Here's today's article on our site :

(translation of course)

Dutch international defender Khalid Boulahrouz will most likely continue his career in Spain. Sevilla are interesting in securing his signature.

It's no longer a secret that Jose Mourinho doesn't count on Khalid anymore. The Dutch international is a member of Chelsea for only a year, after hi came from Hamburg last year. Despite "the blues" had many injury problems in the defense, he only played 13 matches in the league last season. Beside that, he also had injury problems himself, so Mourinho has already marked him "not needed". Some time ago, it was saying that Bayern Munich will be the one to sign him, but that was most likely only press rumours. More truth is about to be in the news, that 25 year old former RKC Waalwijk player is moving to Seville next week already. Spaniards are about to pay 3.4m pounds to chelsea, which is much less compared to how much Chelsea payed for him - 8.5m pounds. The other team that is also interested in Khalid is Atletico Madrid, but it's not looking like they're ready to pay enough for the transfer.

Ben Haim wearing 22

Sinclair wearing #17

Whilst I think Ben Haim will take the #22 shirt, it's unclear whether or not Sinclair will have a #17 shirt. It would make sense to give him a lower squad number shirt than that 40 odd he was wearing, if he was part of the first team plans at the end of this season or the beginning of next.. interesting though.

Sidwell takes #9, according to the official site, so the new boys:

09 Sidwell

14 Pizarro (probably)

15 Malouda or Alex

17 Sinclair (again, probably)

22 Ben Haim
