We need the big characters  in the prem. Mourinho adds to the colour and interest. If I'm honest I miss Fergie and Wenger if only as pantomime villains. Most didn't want Mourinho to stay because he was all washed up, yet get a bit twitchy when he joins a rival. We are on a different journey now and I wouldnt swop coaches. I will always be grateful for what he achieved here though ( which was an awful lot).

BBC to show all of Liverpool's Club World Cup games live. The article doesn't say why they have chosen to do this given that they did not show either Man United or Chelsea when they last competed. I wonder how much the coverage cost us?

I see Duckenfield has been cleared in the Hillsborough trial. Cue accusation of cover up.

I'm buying shares in a pitchfork company immediately.

I mentioned this months ago here......so pleased for him. He has been thrown under the bus after he was put in an impossible situation by Scousers scaling the walls of Hilsborough either without a ticket, or just weren't prepared to queue up and wait. Feel desperately sorry for him and his family.

Indeed. I fully expect his life to be effecitvely over due to the behaviour of people who have no idea how hard his job was. If there was a crowdfunding page, I would donate so he could emmigrate and live a nice life abroad.

Its been said before although you're really not allowed to say it anymore,  but If you were around in the 80s and going to games , Liverpool supporters had this reputation of turning up at away games en mass ,late, worse for wear through drink and ticketless. They would literally force their way into grounds or the authorities would just open gates to prevent a crush. Those poor souls that died were completely innocent. They had tickets and they were on time and looking forward to seeing their team play. .Their last moments would have been terrifying and shocking. Someone is to blame for that and I know where Id put my money.

You are bang on.

Ask Juve fans what they think.

The problem is , those that lost loved ones have been conditioned to look outside their immediate community for answers , the media has portrayed this (other than the SCUM piece) as absolutely not the fault of the "best fans in the World" and they are as much to blame as anyone.

Nobody wants to wave their loved ones off to the football and never see them again but I cannot for the life of me see that blaming one person for the catalogue of events is going to solve things .

It is difficult to imagine that he used anything other than his best judgement given the circumstances. Getting the pitchforks out solves nothing - rightly or wrongly, his life and career will be defined by events that day and I am sure he has relived it everyday since.

This.

He made a judgment call and things went wrong. I seriosuly doubt nothing would have gone wrong had he made a different call
