Well no I don't care anymore either.  We've all got bigger worries at the moment.  But I don't think Liverpool should be 'given' the title, otherwise by logic you've got to award titles to all the top teams throughout the leagues and then follow on with promotions and relegations.  All or nothing and it's just not workable.

I'm not sure that anyone "has" to do something.
Without reading the regulations in detail, it seems to me that leagues have an opportunity to propose teams for Europe, and propose relegation/promotion changes.
Obviously it makes sense that they set strict rules for completed seasons, but I would imagine they can do what they want at other times. (Arsenal promotion in 1919 - nothing changes)

In which case it seems to me that the sensible decisions are:

  • no playoffs and only 2/3 the season played so 2 up 2 down in all leagues
  • Current top 4 for CL entry.  EL entry also based on league position (not cups)
  • No titles declares (though I can see arguments against that)

They will turn anti-elitist (which some would prefer to call populist).  Which is a mixture of left and right (the ultimate being national socialists - but I'm sure we won't go that far).
It has happened already in other European countries.  Border controls, yes,  - Schengen no longer exists.

Ah yes, I agree with this.

I don't disagree..... I was trying to say give the title to Liverpool basically to shut up all the foolishness  because it is a hollow gesture only. Who cares?...no one outside of the anfield lot and I'm sure many there are too worried about more important things..I think you said something a while back about feeling the same way if it were Chelsea... agree 100%...

For all the glory we have shared over the years absolutely none of it impacts our lives in any way at this difficult time. In my football world JT still slips and I groan..but that is a world far away and unreal..Stevie G still slips and I laugh...but again means absolutely nothing as I read the latest news in Colorado USA and around the world.

Yesterday we had a face to face with family in UK and watched the new granddaughter as she begins her journey into a world we will never see.Along with many other young lives...may God speed their paths....

I think there were some on here who thought Grealish could prove a good signing for us, if he was available.

The trouble is that a few players will always be idiots and he's one of them.  They never learn and are just not worth the bother.  Immature young footballers with too much money need watching.  I hope JT will have words.

Gotta say that a £70k range rover is an incredibly modest car for a footballer like Grealish however the DM write it up.  I guess it was a discreet trip.
Love the modern way that the media take OTT tweets from members or the public to generate even more bizarre headlines than they dare write themselves.

Yes I did and I honestly do.  What this coronavirus has done is give us all a reality check.  We all adore Chelsea on here, we laugh and cry with them, share all the highs and lows, but right now I couldn't care less how the season ends or if I never see another live football match for months, we just want to get through this and come out the other side.

God Bless your new granddaughter...….

However you want to view it, he's still an idiot.  You always have to find an angle just to disagree :-(

(And to say that a £70k range rover is a modest car for a footballer, to me sums up how our values are all wrong.  Like spending £50k on a watch.  I just don't get it)

I agree he is an idiot, but I don't find pointing out that some footballers are actually idiots a very enlightening practice, just cheap clickbait.

My next door neighbour has a £50k new Mercedes.  Of course it is wrong.  Most of the modern economy is wrong, anyone who lives in London knows know that.

Ham

So Tottenham, a super rich premier league team, are taking advantage of the government furlough scheme to enable them to claim 80% of their wages from the government for all of their non playing staff?

No word of the players or coach taking a pay cut to protect their jobs instead.

Shame on them.
