Four Brighton players cleared in court of sexual assault today. The BBC pictures three of them in Brighton colours yet for some reason the picture of Anton Rodgers (Brendan's son) is of him in a Chelsea shirt from his youth days, despite being released two years ago without playing a match for the senior team.

That's it in a nutshell. Subtley hundreds of articles and photographs like this one compound the idea that Chelsea = Evil in the barely formed brains of many, many readers.

Another example - we've heard the whole Anders Frisk thing brought out and dusted off again now that Jose is coming home. But when "Sir" Alex retired, did anyone speak out and say, "yeah, great manager, but some of his rants at officials were absolutely scandalous, such as questioning the fitness of Alan Wiley." Of course we didn't. Ferguson (in the interests of gaining an advantage for his team) stepped over the lines of decency and reasonable behaviour on several occasions over the years. But all we seem to see on SSN is the image of Jose poking Vilanova in the eye.

Similar story in the daily mail -

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2338167/Mourinhos--really-match-heaven.html

Rob Draper actually gets paid to write this ballocks.

Was just going to post this. Absolutely awful, as expected, and clearly trying to pile pressure on us before JM hasn't even had a press conference. Funny how there's no piece on Moyes (to my knowledge) and how the players aren't reacting well to the coaching staff being given their p45. <----- There you go Daily Mail, a story you can run without any hint of truth in it since you seem to do that anyways.

Rob Draper actually gets paid to write this ballocks.

He's clearly regurgitating the Emenalo stuff he's read from the fans themselves. They're the ones who think that's what he was doing whilst conveniently ignoring his primary role at the time.

I'm all for journos being called out, but the are more people who swallow it and use it than there are those who are prepared to try and correct their mistakes.

Good news. If the media are after us, it only helps in creating the right backs-against-the-wall, us-against-everyone-else atmosphere that we need.

With the team at a low ebb, Benitez took the players to the centre circle of the training ground, so no one else could listen in. He challenged them to improve and Terry led the way, defending the players.

Another senior player weighed in, saying that the team had won the Champions League the year before so could not be all bad. Benitez responded by pointing out that players such as Didier Drogba and Saloman Kalou, who had subsequently left the club, had played a key part in that triumph.

In the middle of the exchange with Terry, one foreign player interjected in Spanish: ‘Don’t worry boss. He’s only having a go because you left him on the bench and you took his best mate off after 68 minutes.’

Quite spectacular.
