Hi,

I met John Compton about a week ago and we had a 4 hour chat about his footballing career.

John used to be Jimmy Greaves's room mate at Chelsea, but his career did not take off before

Alf Ramsey converted him to a fullback at Ipswich.

John now lives in Bournemouth.

Laurent Charvet :

At 35, Laurent Charvet committed to RC Grasse (DH) after a busy professional career. It was in 2008.

Mark Nicholls is captain at Bedfont FC, managed by Neil Shipperley. He also still runs a leisure centre.

Good to see Neil Shipperley has looked after himself - he was about that size when he played for us.....

I see Ships has his brother in the playing staff. Saw them both at the FA Cup semi vs Arsenal a few year back.

I'm sure I replied to a similar question on this forum a year or two back.

Last I knew:

John Compton was living at Linden Court in Bournemouth.

Joe Fascione was living in Redford Ave, Wallington. Come to pay his respect to Ossie at the Bridge a few years back.

Mark Nicholls was at Torquay FC back in 2001

Tony Potrac was living in Bexley

Dennis Sorrell was living in Commercial Road E1.

Hope this helps. Look forward to getting a copy of the book.

Its weird seeing how old Mark Nicholls is now, 33. I remember he was a promising youngster when I was a kid, and at the timeone of my favourite players. Looked like he was going to be a good player for us, dont know where it went wrong?
