I'm well aware of the Swiss Ramble, And have often linked to his CFC posts on this site in the distant past.

Good - because there is nothing wrong with those figures, and they include the first or second year of the reduced TV rights.

I wasn't aware that Sid Lowe was a finance expert.  Mind you I hear so much twaddle coming out of newspapers from specialist journalists especially out of football hacks, that I am instinctively suspicious of anything they say.

Safe to say though that RM's real problems are the state of the team, last year in La Liga and this year.  I'm sure they have plenty of money to buy anyone we have, though whether they have enough to create a team that will challenge Barca or AM is not clear.

Back to Hazard, not convinced he is what they need and they need more than one player even if he feels otherwise, and still recon it would be player exchange if at all.

We are barred from registering players including loans. I suspect that would also include swaps as we wouldnt be allowed to present the papers.

A Belgian journo who is a friend of Hazard reporting he's off to Madrid for £100m. So is Matt Law.

He's going. With a ban, we'll have to start CHO. Can't have deadwood like Willian being our first choice LW.

I'm intrigued to what your definition of 'deadwood' is if it includes Willian.

Ah yes optimism. I remember that.

Not sure where to use it anymore. Our incompetent board that sanctioned so many illegal moves for players. UEFA who hate all things English and so apply different rules compared to Spanish teams or a manager we are now probably stuck with despite his lack of plan b

So this is where the magic beans to rebuild  Real come from. They can afford Hazard now

Recently acquired Spanish toll-road group Abertis has announced one of the biggest special dividends in Spanish history, worth almost €10 billion. That’s roughly the equivalent of half the amount dished out in dividends by all Spanish listed companies last year. And all of it will be transferred to the three rival companies that bought Abertis in a €16.5 billion joint takeover last October:

  • Italy’s infrastructure giant, Atlantia, majority owned by the Benetton family
  • Spanish construction behemoth, ACS, headed by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez
  • ACS’s German subsidiary, Hochtief.

Good luck to him if he goes. 100 million pounds for a guy with 1 year left on his contract and who hasn’t especially lived up to the hype is a good deal IMO.

Though I dont particularly think RM will go for him as both Neymar and Mbappe should also be high on their list. Neymar especially could be a marketing behemoth and would definitely recoup the money spent.
