Official: Eden Hazard Departs For Real Madrid

Recommended Posts

If we're talking about being able to challenge for the PL and CL, I always get the impression our squad is so close and yet so far. I don't think we actually need as much of an over hall as it seems, but we do need two particular signings (out wide and in the centre). Hazard is probably one of them, and probably the best candidate if we want an real winger (together with a young age and potential).

With our defense of Cole, Terry, Cahill/Luis, Ivanovic and Cech, A midfielder 3 of Essien, Mata and Sneijder with Hazard and Sturridge out wide and Torres up front = woooaaoooaaoooaaaaoooh. But it's too bad just those two players could cost, I don't know, £65m? If Hazard's release clause is 33m max and the general price I've seen thrown around for Sneijder is 30m'ish.

Then again, we offered 40-effing-m for Modric alone, and we're probably set to free up wages from Drogba, Anelka, Alex, Malouda and Kalou pretty soon.

It seems steep, but top clubs spend a lot of money and you don't even realize it. Everyone acts like Barcelona is made up of free youth players. But in summer 2010 they signed Villa for 35m, then the following summer signed Sanchez for 22m and Fabregas for around 33m, so 90m in a calender year, and then United also spent 80m on various players, and neither of these squads are dropping key players due to age like we are. And Liverpool, 130m in their Calendar year too from summer 10-11. So the fact we spent 100m on Torres, Mata and Luis isn't unusual.

And we're still only just short. One of Hazard or Sneijder and I think we'd be back to easily challenging for the Premier League (both in the quality they'd provide and the service they could give to Torres and Sturridge), and both of them and we'd be back on top of the CL too.

So I'd signed Hazard if he's what we really need and we want to be challenging for a PL/CL double. He's only going to get more expensive. If Madrid snap him up, in goes a 200m release clause, he'll settle in glamorous Spain with less tax and we'll probably never see him again.

Spanish tax for footballers is now 52-56%.

Is any of that a genuine improvement over Morris, Duberry, Terry, Dalla Bona, Carlton Cole and Huth? There are a lot more hopefuls now, but I don't see anyone hitting the first team looking as good as any of those did.

Yes, I can see the improvement. If you noticed I only mentioned English players, It's easy to buy quality foreign talent, the English players coming through are of improved quality every generation in comparison undoubtedly to me, not just quantity but quality, in terms of Jon Harley, we'll include Muzzy Izzet, Leon Knight, Carlton Cole etc... Seeing them as teenagers they wouldn't shine/survive or be stars in our academy today.

If we can continue to have generations like the recent ones will do good. I know the Barca academy pretty well & they are lauded, but, the amount of talent that doesn't make it there obviously is the majority, but they have a few that stick & it's built up, which is what we should be aiming for

Not a rumor per se, neither one needs to go nuts.

Eric Di Meco, a member of the Dream Team RMC, is concerned about how the winter break has been managed in Lille: "I feel that Lille has done wrong during the truce. Losing Obraniak not terrible. All rumors about Sow, Hazard, do they have worked well? Will Sow will return? I also feel qu'Hazard has head elsewhere. There is too much noise corridor. "

This is from RMC Sports journo Eric Di Meco on RMC Sports. Generally they're spot on about their information. If that is true then we should go full throttle for Hazard. So far every report indicates Hazard maybe willing to change clubs & only Lille will try to avoid losing him.

This is the perfect time for us if we are interested enough to sign him. Wait for summer & he'll be playing with some other club bar Chelsea

Well, I think the improvemtn is pretty moot when even those, today, with a lot of hype aren't ever allowed to even understudy a first team player in any real sense and it's been so long since we have had anyone play ANY number of first team games when coming through the ranks that I fear we've totally forgotten how to do it.

ish

15-20 year olds are the biggest waste of money in football, better to go for 20-24 year olds on the norm. if your gonna go for strikers never go for well known as their is probably a player nearly as good for half the price somewhere if you look hard enough. the only players you should actively try to bring through youth ranks is strikers and flair players, the rest are just easier to buy.

that said since chelsea aren't run very well I think hazard would be a nice little signing. hell for the price being bandied about he would cost close to the same as mata did, if he keeps his form up and does those dazzling things he will become something chelsea haven't had in a long time, a proper flair player with pace. that is the kind of player that puts bums on seats and makes people think your team plays good attractive football even when its just pure counterattacking.

I disagree. You can't say Cole or Izzet , as youth players, wouldn't be stars in our academy and they'd DEFINITELY cope with ease as would Knight. I think you're being forgetful over just how good youth and U21 players they were and the amount of youth and reserve(and an amazing first few games for the firsts in Cole's case)goals Knight and Cole actually scored. Izzet might not have made it for us but he was a better than average Prem player and very few then or now will end up being that. Knight just found his little size caught up with him at the top level where defenders can be strong AND fast and Cole should STILL be a star iif his head was ever right.

Only difference in my in is we do scout a little better topday b ut without a clue of how to get kids first team chances that matter we really shouldn't be bothering at all.

to. Real (Madrid) like him, and he likes them but, as with any player, he would view Manchester United as an great opportunity.

"If Roman Abramovich really is providing funds to take Chelsea back to the top again, then they would be interesting, as well. He would consider that, for sure."

Thats the same thing posted in the first post of this thread... Only difference is different websites.

Anyway can Hazard pay on the left? I've only seen him on the right side.

RMC and their journalists are generally very reliable.

Football Transfer

Eden Hazard Update : Manchester United have let Hazard 'entourage know They'd wait for him if He wanted to stay until the end of the season . Informal offer starts at 26M . Could push to 30M . No official contact with Lille . Dont know if its a move to trick Jorge Mendes and Benfica so They could lower their price for United target Nicolas Gaitan .

There's also an understanding that Lille will seriously consider 35M euros for Hazard .

P.S : Big Match tonight for Hazard against Marseille !
