Drogba 11Th Minute Tribute

0 posts in this topic

This was all over the internet and Twitter yesterday and thought it a bit strange no one had mentioned it on here seeing as its meant to be organised by supporters.

Do you reckon this will happen?

Any thoughts?

I won't be there tomorrow, but I certainly hope so. It's important that the fans sufficiently honour legends like Drogba. If it does end up being his last game at Stamford Bridge, I'll be kicking myself for not getting a ticket.

Happy it did. We need a testimonial now.

I am not sure that a testimonial is appropriate in this day and age. They used to be used to give a player a financial bonus for long service. If any kind of match is organised, its proceeds should go to "The Didier Drogba Foundation".

What was done in the end?

Sat in the MHL, there was an applause which turned into singing his name while clapping. He acknowledged from the bench by raising his arm. Was good but a testimonial/benefit match is needed.

Well I'm gutted I had to sit in the West Upper for this one, I was the ONLY one in the stand doing it, everyone was looking at me as if I was some sort of Alien, then some moron of a woman infront me me turned round and went 'WHY are you clapping?' as if I was some sort of annoyance, when I explained she just turned her nose up and turned back round, turns out she was a united fan, so I had a laugh at her expense at the end when she thought they'd won and then it was announced City had scored.

Never sitting in that stand again, got my ST for MHL this year which is where I usually sit. Honestly was appalled at the atmosphere, nice sunny day, last game of the season, Munich the following weekend and I felt like I was at a morgue in that stand. Shed and MHL were buzzing as usual.

I would rather he paraded the European Cup 5 mins before the teams come out against Spurs. He would get an amazing reaction and it would be a great way to put one over Spurs!
