There is absolutely no way on earth that we would even consider selling Costa to Liverpool. If we did it would be the single greatest act of idiocy in the history of sport. He hates England , can't settle , wants to go to Madrid . Maybe we should swap him for Bale. Bob Singleton Report post Posted August 8, 2017 I think the 'Costa to Liverpool' story started with some half-arsed remark from Phil Thompson regarding AM buying Costa then loaning him to Liverpool until January (not realising, the thick Scouser that he is, that AM are banned from registering players, and in order to loan a player out, they must first be registered to the club doing the loaning out!) If we want to stay at the top, we have to accept that £70-100 million fees are going to be more normal for top players, even younger ones. We bought Hazard for £32 million in 2012. Matic was allowed to go to United and Cech to Arsenal because of their conduct and service. Costa has treated us like garbage. Roman is doing him no favours whatsoever.
