The worse thing about this is it shows to players like Hazard a lack of ambition and organization. With the window still open and with Madrid not giving up, there's every chance his head might just be turned if we don't show some ambition fast.

Yep. No surprise him and Courtois haven't signed new contracts.

If we're not careful, we'll lose them for little or no money due to our lack of ambition.

Last year we signed Luiz and Alonso on the final day.

Great.

Will take a lot more than that for us to have a good season this time around. We need at least four players good enough to challenge for the starting XI.

We need to make a judgement on this transfer window on Sep 1. Before that, it is pointless and based on assumptions. We can still bring in 3-4 great players or we could end up with some massively underwhelming panic buys. Anything can happen. If we pull off Sandro, one of the quality RWBs we've been linked to, a decent CM, Conte has seen his squad greatly improved from last season. Long term always more important than short term, but regardless of what happens the club has already impacted our season negatively by leaving it too late.

To say that the next two weeks, both on and off the pitch, will be extremely important for Chelsea, is a massive understatement.

This transfer window is already deemed an absolute disaster. Nothing will change that. Even if we get four quality players in before Sep 1 we'll be in late October before they can be expected to make a reasonable difference.

By then it might be well too late.

Well my point was everyone goes on about djobli whatever his name is but last year we managed to sign 2 players on the last day who became key players and were not useless.
Hopefully this year we can do the same.

Disagree. The mistake of waiting too long has already cost us, but the right signings can leave us with a great squad. Season is one game old. About 60 to go. Will never be a 10/10, but with the right signings can be good all things considered. Long term perspective most important.

At this point, Anybodji will do. Maybe that's the plan, we get so desperate that we'll be happy with bringing Jokanovic out of retirement.

EDIT: Also, Alonso proved how much better he is than Rose; it will take a better player than Rose to move Alonso. We are better off signing a left footed midfielder to give us an all out attacking option.

Yeah Alonso for me is a great player and would easily be world class if he had a bit more pace. Additionally, he is also by some distance our best set piece taker and he works his bollocks off every game. It is one of the reasons why I would personally be content with a Telles type signing because not only is dropping him (Alonso) harsh but I can forsee him still getting in front of another more expensive LWB if we do buy one. That said, I can also see him as a LCB so if we did get a Sandro or a Rose he would probably be great there too. Either way, I do not see him getting dropped.

Matic absolutely amazing for United so far , he's done more in two games for them  than in the last two seasons of his Chelsea career .

It really makes you wonder if wanting away he's been dialling it in at Chelsea particularly given what he said at the end of the last JM season.

If we buy players who have had a full pre season with other clubs, they'd be fit to hit the ground running for us immediately, not in October.

He's doing exactly the same for them as he was for us, unsurprisingly. Difference is people don't need to scapegoat him now he's a United player!

One area they are desperately weak in and we helped them solved it. Easy.

Nah , he's getting forward like a racehorse , the difference is probably the quickness of foot of the other midfielders around him.
