We go with what we've got - and Drinkwater. League winners two out of three... the horror of it. Recent Champions League, we have been bland. Just waiting to be knocked out. I'm excited to see what Conte will do, with the team this year. Apologies if this is too upbeat. Because it appears for some it's a very difficult time of the year.

OK, so got cover in the midfield now, which is good, and added to our HG options.

Got enough to get through to January at least with the squad we have. Could do with a couple more, but maybe we'll do that in January. Hopefully we'll get Barkley then.

Long term still need another LWB and possibly a backup striker.

Overall, we've signed Morata, Bakayoko, Drinkwater, Zappacosta, Rudiger and Callibero, and brought back Christensen. Could have been better, could have been worse.

Probably got enough to be competitive this season, probably enough to challenge for the title at least, and get to knockout stages of CL - maybe win a cup.

Could have been better, could have been worse. Still annoyed by how club leave it so late and are so tight on spending. Could have got deals done way earlier. But we've got what we've got.

So there we are. Now time to focus on having a great season. Up the Chels!

Later everyone.

Hopefully we won't......:).

Yes, 7 quality players into the squad, and some here are still complaining.

I agree. And it's the same every window.

Yes, indeed. Looking forward to it all unfolding.

Don't be a stranger, James.

Christ. £35m (only £5m less than we sold Matic for) for a United-reject with 3 caps, whose one good season was being carried by Kante and whose England place has recently been taken by a player we let go for £3m. Look where Leicester are now Kante's with us and that tells you all you need to know about how good DD actually is.

Given the market and Drinkwater being English the deal itself isn't that terrible. Ultimately, he fits our needs and that's the main thing. Yeah, would have been nice if he was cheaper but when you look at players like Ox and Barkley who are in their final year of their contracts and going for similar fees, we haven't done too bad in comparison.

As for Matic, may only be 5m or so difference between prices, however we've gained a more robust and mobile player, with a bit more craft on the ball and who is an overall better fit for our system. While also being 2 years younger. In comparison United picked up a 29 year old immobile midfielder who isn't going to age well in the EPL going forward as mobility and speed decrease further.

Both sides have managed to overall pick up players that fit their current needs and systems.

We shouldn't be buying English players due to them being English though. Granted he is not a like-for-like with Matic, but as the reigning Champions and in 4 competitions this season I'd have thought we'd have a bit more ambition than to sign someone who is just completely average, and at such a preposterous cost. I mean, can someone justify to me how he's £35m and Chalobah was £3m?!
