The only way selling Willian makes any sense at all is if they agree to sell us Martial as his replacement.  Even then we'd be much better off having both.

We need more attacking players. Replacing one for another is not going to work.

Maybe not, but £60m for a player about to turn 30 is silly money.

A straight swap between Willian and Martial is a better deal for us, particularly in the long run

I think it's sensible business for a club sliding into mid table mediocrity to divest itself of its highly priced stars.

Yawn.

Never know they may offer Martial + cash for William. We are not the only mugs anymore in the transfer market.

£60m for Willian? Not ideal to sell him to the Mancs, but at Willian's age, that is a superb fee that we can reinvest in a more long term option - Martial for example.

What is it with this this increasingly common belief that footballers turn in to pumpkins on their 30th birthday? Thank goodness we didn't have this narrow minded attitude when we signed Zola or Vialli.

£60mil for a 30 year old is a wonderful bit of business that will get Marina a nice bonus from the boss for making some much needed money

Personally ,  as long as we don't leave " the coach" whoever that may be , high and dry then I suppose £60m is good value.

I think this deal has been brewing for ages though , I'm sure the same thing was reported last summer.
