Regardless of how Courtois has played this, our board should have handled it better. Another example of our board’s incompetence. We should never be in this situation with 3 days to go.

We've certainly known for some time that he wouldn't sign an extension and that he wanted to leave.

Either there's due to be an announcement within the next 24 hours that he's been sold and we've got a replacement, which is why he wasn't at Cobham today, or else whoever is in charge of contract negotiations, contingency plans and transfers is grossly incompetent.

In better news; Spurs have pulled out of the race to land Zaha, Chelsea now clear favourites to land the palace star

Quite. Rumour is that Marina botched the Allison deal and is now going down her spreadsheet and has come up with Butland.

If he genuinely has gone AWOL why even bother selling him. Hold him to his contract and let him rot for a year. Don't even play him in the reserves, just on his own. It's not even worth the pittance RM are going to end up paying this year (can't even replace him to any kind of similar standard with the money) and the trade-off would be to set a precedent for the rest of the squad that we don't take kindly to players trying to take the piss.

Do we sell RLC to Palace for Zaha ?

I don't think RLC is good enough for where we want to be (top 4). Mid-table team is about his level. However, based on the last 3 windows, mid-table could very well be where we're heading!
Same goes for Zaha. The only benefit to us, as far as I can tell, is that we get rid of a central midfielder (of whom we have too many) in return for getting an AM where we are one short.
