After what Liverpool just paid for Allison (who is untested in the PL)? And then who would you be able to reinvest that money in, price-wise, like for like, who's of a similar quality? Gormangorman Report post Posted August 6, 2018 Martin Lipton: with Abramovich taking a back seat, Chelsea are at a crossroads with Marina in charge, they are in danger of becoming Premier league also rans as Tottenham and Arsenal move ahead of them.

Losing Courtois for next season and making 30+ mil off of him or losing Courtois for next season (while still keeping him at the club and paying his wages) and getting 0? I understand feeling hard done by him towards us as fans and the club we support but it's better to keep emotions out of it.
Original 21 Report post Posted August 6, 2018 Why blame Courtois? The Board have known his intentions for a long time and have failed miserably to find an adequate replacement. Should've been the first deal sorted at the beginning of summer. Now Marina is scrabbling around again in the bargain basement.

It's going to cost money to replace him whether he leaves now, in January or next summer... we may as well get something back, even if some would prefer he rot on his own for a year! Mark Kelly Report post Posted August 6, 2018 I don't think I'd wish a keeper actively not trying on the reserve / youth side , it was bad enough last year when he decided to stop diving in case he got injured and missed out on Belgium winning the World cup. Besides , we've let players "rot" in the reserves before (Bogarde /Malouda) and it doesn't stop it happening again. Sell him , clear his locker out and DHL it to him . The very idea that he's using his children as an excuse is laughable , if he was that worried he'd have kept his talent in his pants . He's a footnote in Chelsea history , a nobody . We're the mugs for enabling him. An engaged Willy or a keen Bulka will offer twice the effort than that prat working his ticket .
