My Dad Supports Fulham

Hello mateys,

Chelsea fan since the Spurs cup final '67, was in the Allianz for that unforgettable night two years ago.

I'm a songwriter - into anything that's a good song from the 1920s onwards right up to modern chart stuff, particularly Pop/Rock or Country.

I traced my Dad after about 50 years and he was shocked I'd turned out to be a Chels since the rest of my entire family on both sides are Fulham :-)

I wrote a song about it called 'My Dad Supports Fulham'. Interested to hear what you think.

It's now out on iTunes as part of the alternative football compilation 'Eat My Goal':

Not sure it's chantable but here are the lyrics anyway:

My Dad Supports Fulham © 2009 Murray Webster

Verse 1

Talking to my old man after such a long, long time

I was just a baby when he last was by my side

I sent him a photo wearing a shirt of the brightest blue

With the West Stand, Stamford Bridge, in full view

PreChorus

He took one look and said "It's lucky, son

That I didn't die of shame"

Chorus

My Dad Supports Fulham

He only sees in black and white

But I love the colours of Chelsea

I'm so glad he wasn't there to put me right

Verse 2

His father played at The Cottage he says he's very proud

The nephew that I've never met shouts their name out loud

PreChorus

He said "There's no doubt that your ancestors

Will be spinning in their graves"

Chorus

My Dad Supports Fulham

He only sees in black and white

But I love the colours of Chelsea

I'm so glad he wasn't there to put me right

Bridge

From the things I've been told by my father

There's many colours we both share

But if I'd been forced to wear black and white

That would be such a hard cross to bear

Chorus x 2

My Dad Supports Fulham

He only sees in black and white

But I love the colours of Chelsea

I'm so glad he wasn't there to put me right

Coda

My Dad Supports Fulham

Cheers!
