I see they're estimating 4 years away from SB while the ground gets redeveloped. Might I suggest a ground share with Queen of the South so that I could have a shot at getting a season ticket?

I think we would have a shot at filling it...

I can quite easily see it being closer to £1bn than £500m!!!  We're going to have to move out for quite a few seasons, the building works over the tube line aren't straightforward and the stadium is in one of the most congested areas of London. Most building projects of this nature tend to end up costing more than initial projections.

And one particular person often refers to our board as penny pinching.

A bit like calling Mother Theresa a hearltess old witch.

I take it you haven't read up much on Mother Theresa then.  You'd be surprised.

If it's 1 billion you can forget the stadium development.

Who is going to invest that kind of money when the return on the investment cannot be guaranteed? It's not like property or mineral investment when you can project a return on your investment due to the known value of the commodity.

Football its different who can predict how successful the club will be in the next 20 years and if 60k will come to every home match and not forgetting the TV deal, which I believe is going to be less next time around "if the rumours are to be believed"

I agree expansion is required however IMO the club need to revisit plan B of moving

I think so too.  It is one thing spending £1 billion on prime West London estate.  Quite another spending it to increase capacity. on land you already own/control.

Assume a 5% return over 20 years and that  would require £80mn increased revenues on the ground.
(but low assumptions, probably they'd need more)

Over 25 games that is £3.2m a game.

20k new seats at £100 plus an increase of £30 on the remaining seats (to typically £80) would do that.

That would be a tough sell to punters.  Many of whom would be a lot further away from play than they are now.
