Campaign Against Chelsea? - The evidence

Recommended Posts

As a life long Chelsea fan, the way decisions have gone this season have started to rub me up the wrong way. The thing that winds me up more is when pundits talk about decisions that have gone our way, without giving examples. As we all know, it's very easy to remember when you are wronged, and forget when things go your way, so I have tried to be as honest as possible. This list has been compiled from memory and BBC reports, please add to it things I have forgotten and that the BBC will have conveniently left out, as I'm sure there are other things I've missed, but the bad ones only stick out in games we haven't taken full points from. Any video evidence I've been a bit lazy with will be appreciated. Also, any examples of media bias, such as his bile filled piece are also welcome http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/managers/jose-Mourinho/11407682/Jose-Mourinho-Is-he-paranoid-or-are-Chelsea-being-persecuted.html?frame=3196830

Manchester United 1-1 Chelsea

Ivanovic very harshly sent off

The foul count was virtually even but for some reason Dowd was only booking Chelsea players. At one point he also managed to break up a Chelsea counter attack with a foul on Fabregas.

Newcastle at home, clear penalty for handball by Collocini, Villa away, penalty for handball by Cissoko and Everton home, clear handball by Naismith.

Arsenal at home, Koscielny should be sent off conceding the penalty. Wellbeck clear two footed tackle at the end. No Wenger punishment for pushing for Jose

I remember last season we had a dubious pen ( though not stick on ) given to us against WBA. Steve Clarke was their manager and the next morning he was issued with a grovelling apology by Mike Riley for decision! Well that's very sweet Mike but if you're going to start that sort of thing you need to continue it, for instance when Chelsea get a bad decision otherwise it can start looking a bit biased. Mind you why would we get an apology for Saturdays debacle, apparently (and I think I heard this right on talksport tonight) a refs assessor was in the crowd and his report showed Atkinson got every decision spot on. All that fuss about nothing.
