Best bit of the day, Zola was on our train home and got a picture with him at Euston.

I know you don't like my posts very much but if I might just be allowed to say:-

Post of the Season :-)

I have no issue with your (or anyone else's) posts at all!

Felt a bit sorry for him. Obviously had a sh*t day and was desperate to get home, and 50 p*ssed idiots (me included) stood outside his train carriage chanting "Gian-fran-co Zo-la"

Mind you, my sympathy waned when I considered the fact he would have earned well in excess of 10m quid whilst he was with us. He should have got a cab,

Good :)  Wrong end of the stick on my part.

Ha ha!  Poor Franco, bless his heart.  I bet he wishes it was back in the day.

Yes but shows what a humble man he is.  I wish I could wave a magic wand for him.

If you are brought up a low income home, a cab seems an extravagance irrespective of what you may have earnt.

Sutton/Arsenal v Lincoln City

I don't believe it.... lost for words.... surely this needs looking into.

Meanwhile we get Man Utd, but at least it's at home.

#hotballs

But it is equally true of course that they get us too.

Impressed by Fabregas this season. Has gone from being a complete stranger to a vital contributor. He is one of only three players currently giving real competition to our first XI. I'd say Matic and him is a 70-30. Pedro vs Willian is a 60-40. And on recent showings, Aké is the third player giving both Alonso and Cahill at least a 20-80.

But, problem: these are the only three players we have that I think Conte is more than happy to let start in the PL.

Then, we have Terry, Chalobah, Zouma who are squad players. Giving depth, but at the moment quite a significant drop in quality.

And then we have the last men standing: RLC, Kenedy, Batshuayi, Aina, Musonda - players Conte would find creative solutions to instead of starting (e.g., false nine instead of Michy). They are barely squad players.

While we have 11 subs for 10 outfield positions, what we need to do is to replace the five players in the "last man standing group" with five first team players. Players like Pedro, Moses, Alonso, Matic, Cahill should be pushed further by upgrades on themselves. That is the only way we can fight for PL and CL next season. Massive changes in the summer awaits.

Glad the Spuds have drawn Millwall, I was there in 95 when they knocked us out on penalties and Jonny Spencer got abused by our own fans.

^ Ugh, don't remind me of that horrible night: I was at a jazz gig and had taken a tranny (for our younger readers, that's a small radio, rather than anything to do with LGBT) and can still remember the feeling of numbness when they equalised and then went on to win. (It was, apparently, a good gig I'd missed, as well.)

True, but it's high pressure as Man Utd aren't a bad side at the moment, and can get very lucky.  Perhaps more than that you know the media are going to go into frenzy on this one, Red's v Blue's and lots of dramatism, and... who are they going to be backing?

I would've preferred Arsenal or Tottenham personally.

Oh dear Mrs Nobly, what are you thinking?  Would love to have been a fly on the wall when Jose pitched up there.

Oh she was full of it. I was giving it the old " he's past it, sloppy seconds, you'll need a new one next year".

As you probably know I was very pro JM while with us and will still defend him if I feel the need to, so I'm hoping Mrs NB never finds her way onto these pages!  Sometimes while I'm tapping away on my keyboard  replying to a post she shouts up the stairs "what you doing on that computer?" , I reply "just watching porn dear, nothing to do with you".
