Sir

Official: Chelsea Sign Mateo Kovacic On Season Long Loan

Recommended Posts

Let's just hope he enjoys life in London and playing in the premier league and wants to stay because he's happy here.

He was never given a proper chance at Madrid and maybe he won't want to go back if he settles in well.

It's like we have given him a chance to resurrect his career, rather than sit in the stands waiting for Modric to age, hopefully that will mean something to him.

Amazing midfielder who will be one of the most utilised over the season.

There has been some talk about his future and whether this really is only a one-year loan... Well, this is straight from the horses mouth. Does this sound like a man who plans to go back to Madrid?

No, it sounds very much like a player who has left for good.

I still find it very hard to believe the club would agree to a straight up one year loan with no option to buy. It just doesn't make sense.

And for all the noise of Madrid not wanting to lose him, they clearly don't want him.

The most important thing is he adapts to the league, plays well and enjoys it here. If that happens he will almost certainly want to stay anyway.

It certainly puts us in first place if he does come available in a years time (with a 1 year shorter contract).

As far as I gather, he would still have two years to run on his existing deal with Real. By that time he is 25. If they force him to stay on for a year more before giving up selling him with one year to go he'd be 26.

For him as a payer, the sensible move would be to make sure that you get your career back on track playing. It would be silly to make all this noise about wanting to leave and then having to be forced to return. Maybe this is his way of telling Real and their fans he wants out for good and forcing their hand? Anyhow, his message is clear. He sees this as a permenent transfer from Real.

Thought he was excellent in his cameo. Think he will be one of the surprise packages of the PL this season.

Can see from a mile away he's quality and that he will adapt and exceed the high level of the PL. Some players you just know will make it while there's others like Bakayoko who can flatter to deceive.
