You see a panel of absolute bellends talk about Liverpool that way? No. No way.

The only penalty in those clips where the foul on Drogba yet that’s the one that’s a dive???

To be fair they thought all 3 were dives, and I thought the 2nd one could have been a pen.
They concentrated on Drogba because that was the one actually given and against the English team (I guess Drogba was playing for a Turkish team at the time with Turk Telecom on his shirt).
But absolute bellends they were.  Proof positive that sticking a couple of people in a tin can with video feeds does not lead to better decisions.

To be honest, I do not think any of those are penalties but they are all more of a penalty than Mane's last week.

So you really have to question the wisdom of the Arsenal defender who put two hands on Drogba's back and did not push.

Football is a contact sport. I think defenders have the right to try and nudge/push the attacker to a certain degree without being penalised with a penalty.  It was like Tammy's header against Norwich, technically that pull should have been given as a foul but instead it is seen as canny CF play.

Well it is a risk worth taking - especially when the clip was made.  But my question is slightly different.  If he puts both hands on Drogba and pushes, he has to take the risk that a ref might or might not give it and the reward is he might avoid a goal.  If he puts both hands on and doesn't push, that is all the risk and no reward.  Either he was incredibly daft or perhaps he did push a bit.

Needed to bump this thread back up.........just how good has this guy been thus far?

I thought 10-15 goals in the league would be a decent season for him, after which we would go on to buy a centre forward in the summer.

9 already (no penalties), I will be disappointed if he doesnt at least double up, but he should have an eye on 20 league goals.

His all round play gets better each passing week too. Really proving me wrong thus far. Long may it continue.

Yup.  I've never thought his all round play was a weakness.  But I certainly had doubts as to whether he was this ready this year.  Giroud must be kicking himself.

Hmm....guess he has to kick something!...think he was finished long term at least a season ago...like him but time catches up with every player. DD came back and did a job but none of us judged him against his prime..Giroud at best (but I doubt) may be similar now.

Tammy?..at the moment a joy to watch everything Morata lacked in attitude and application on show every week.

I get most joy just from watching him when the ball is out wide.  The fake steps, the watching of the defenders, the sudden move one way and the dash the other, the charge to the near post that clears out all that room for the next guy in.  It really is like a coaching manual for how to be a striker.  Doesn't need to score for me.

Did we get Crespo back to do some coaching?

Pretty much sums it up....and Crespo?...was like watching molten gold just flowing around a pitch!!

Hate to see Chelsea lose anything but SFL has brought smiles back and a defeat still hurts but not in the grubby way it has felt of late.
