Was not expecting Tomori to start!?

Billy Gilmour on the bench too

Especially after this from Christensen on the official website

‘I feel good, it’s been a long time since I played three games in a row,’ said Andreas. ‘For me personally it’s been a good start and I’m feeling more and more comfortable.

My god the squad looks thin with these injuries. No idea why Christensen has been dropped, tiredness perhaps? Seems odd otherwise.

No not at all. A mad world is when you promote the ones who doesn't perform ahead of the ones who does perform.

Willian has not showed much to warrant an inclusion so far...

...even ahead of Barkely I'd argue.

My team for today would be;

Kepa; Azpilicueta, Zouma, Christensen, Emerson; Kovacic, Jorginho, Barkley; Pulisic, Abraham, Mount

Subs: Caballero, Tomori, Alonso, Willian, Gilmour/Kenedy, Batshuayi, Giroud

Did not see Tomori starting ahead of Christensen. Otherwise as expected.

Starting XI: Kepa, Azpilicueta, Tomori, Zouma, Emerson, Kovacic, Jorginho, Barkley, Pulisic, Abraham, Mount

Subs: Caballero, Christensen, Alonso, Willian, Gilmour, Batshuayi, Giroud

Missing out: Bakayoko, Kenedy

Injured: Rüdiger, Kanté, Loftus-Cheek, Pedro, Hudson-Odoi

Why Tomori?

Lampard thinks Christinsen been poor perhaps?

Could be that SFL thinks this game is one of our easier matches (famous last words) and wants to give his 2nd choice defensive pair a game with a view to pairing his 1st choice partnership of Christensen and Rudiger after the international break?

Thought Willian will start. He needs more minutes to get fit. Tomori is probably just rotation. Maybe Shef are good at set pieces and Lamps wants more physical presence.

I am happy for Tomori, eager to see what he can do. We haven't kept a cleansheet in the 4 matches played.. conceded 2 or more in half of them, I have no problem with Tomori starting.
