Keeping possession is about the team passing the ball amongst themselves. Very little to do with Kante's position. I have not seen one City player dwelling on the ball, yet they dominate possession.

Every time Kante or any Chelswa has the ball, he is surrounded by 3 City player. It would be reckless for any player to want to hold on to the ball in that situation.

Making room for yourself to receive a pass is vital, the only time Kante makes himself available is when he can give the ball back where it came from. Kante also kicks the ball in the direction of the person he's passing to rather than actually thinking his pass through, a little while ago he had no pressure and played a dodgy left foot pass.

Then he's also done a silly foul and got City back in the game, he simply doesn't know how to play the role.

Been asleep since half time.

Two keepers don't save that though.
