Sir

Official: Chelsea Sign Edouard Mendy

Recommended Posts

Clearly difficult to assess after just two games. We have looked a little  more solid in a tiny sample so far.

He seems quite a confident lad. Nothing has phased him so far and he don’t look overawed being at Chelsea. He seems happy to try and come to take a cross or a corner.

Saved what he should have so far. We’ll learn more about him over the coming weeks. At the minute, he looks similar to Kepa did when he arrived. Steady and done what he had to do, answered no difficult questions yet. Early signs are cautiously promising.

He looks like a goalkeeper so far. A huge relief.

The gangly Ed De Goey type , no bad thing in itself.

Whenever I think of Ed, I think of the last minute of the Vicenza home leg.

Sciatika

Apparently, it happened in training and he has returned to Cobham for testing and treatment.

Can't stand international breaks! I understand this kind of injury can happen at any time, but something more bitter about it happening whilst away for international friendlies, friendlies that come so soon after the last round of international friendlies!

Hopefully it isn't anything too serious and he's back quickly.
