Great post Jane....sensible views ..concern without the "nuclear option".....I believe sums it up for a lot of us,,,, still with Frank but am getting worried...not on the short term but as it's possible to have no depth in a playing squad I think it is applicable to the coaching staff at the moment.

Thanks Chara.

No depth in the coaching staff is spot on 👍🏻
I still cannot believe that Spurs result. I’m waiting for Droy to tell us what Jose did wrong (as if) 🙄

Unbelievable Jeff

I'd still take him back.

Just revel in Souey saying the keeper should have saved the third.

What a prat.

This season will be looked back on as an anomaly, I think we’ve seen enough football now to say that either the lack of crowd, general Coronavirus issues or some other reason, has turned the league into a mess.

Our defensive frailties are not a new phenomenon so there is a lot of concern coming from our support, understandably. However, there are quite a few teams with similar concerns. United fans, for example, would like nearly a whole new back four if you look at their forums.

Unless the league stabilises over the coming weeks they’ll be 10 teams in contention for the title! It’s not showing any signs of doing so however, far from it.

This makes a lot of sense to me.

No fan pressure on the attacking players means they can thrive and try things they may not with a crowd there to react and boo if it doesn't come off and no fan pressure on defenders mean they may not quite have that final 5% or so as they don't feel the fans watching for every mistake, meaning the concentration level may not be as high as normal.

If I were roman, I would find out how much it would cost to get Steve Holland back and get him in asap. Franks desperately needs an experienced Number 2 to help him and not many better than Steve Holland IMO. I also feel we need more leaders in the team, Silva a great start, but Rice would also help with that IMO.

Any experienced coach who concentrates of getting the best results out of the squad rather than developing the best players for the future which is what SFL & co specialise in.

This is interesting - last 4 PL winners with different formations all designed to get a front 5.

Steve Holland: Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool attacking with a front five – Masterclass

This video does a great analysis - love this guy.

Watch from 5 minutes and you can see exactly why the system is contributing to our defensive problems, despite defensive mistakes.

Yes - big gap between back 4 and midfield agreed.  Same problem lasting from pre-season 2019 - agreed.
Solution - better midfield cover - not agreed.
I think the solution is to push the back 4 up to the half way line like pretty much every other top 10 side does to close that space.
As Liverpool does - with VAR protecting you in case you get unlucky with offside.  (yeah I know VAR works better for some clubs)

I’ve mentioned Steve Holland several times. He was a huge loss.

Not sure how you come to that conclusion base on his post Chelsea success.

I would have gone for the school teacher Clements having a more successful no.2 career post Chelsea. I can only think of AVB and Clarke having success as a No1 post Chelsea in the PL era.

As I mentioned in another post. To win the league history shows you need to employ a serial winner.

I wonder how long until Liverpool demand the season be voided?

As long as they include last season I’m good with that!

Ball is cleared to just outside area, Lanzini, being closed down by despairing defenders lashes one with the outside of his foot that curls outwards high into almost the top right hand corner of the net.

The keeper sees it late and arches backwards desperately trying to get the ball with his right arm above his head instead of his left.

Souey thinks he should have got it.

Like the berk he is.
