And no Kezza? Is this Jose's way of letting him know something, I wonder?

Petr Cech is rested from the final home game of the season with Carlo Cudicini given his first Premiership start.

Glen Johnson returns to the side but also Gérémi retains his place. One of them is likely to play in midfield. There is no Didier Drogba so

Gudjohnsen and Cole look set to carry the attack to Charlton.

Neither Damien Duff nor Arjen Robben will play a part in the game.

For Charlton, Kevin Lisbie comes into the attack for the injured Francis Jeffers while Danish international winger Dennis Rommedahl is dropped to the bench, Bryan Hughes his replacement.

The Chelsea line-up is:

23 Carlo Cudicini

2 Glen Johnson

6 Ricardo Carvalho

26 John Terry ©

13 William Gallas

30 Tiago

4 Claude Makelele

14 Gérémi

8 Frank Lampard

22 Eidur Gudjohnsen

10 Joe Cole

Substitutes: 40 Lenny Pidgeley, 29 Robert Huth, 27 Jiri Jarosik, 9 Mateja Kezman, 24 Mikael Forssell.

Charlton are expected to line-up in a 4-5-1 formation as follows:

Andersen; Young, El Karkouri, Fortune, Konchesky; Hughes, Holland, Kishishev, Murphy, Johansson; Lisbie.

Subs: Kiely, Fish, Fuller, Rommedahl, Euell.

The referee is Mike Riley.

Great to see Carlo starting. I think he'll sub JT and Lamps late in the game so that the crowd can show their appreciation for them for the whole season. Possibly Makelele as well.
