  1. Chelsea's forward issues

No need to apologise. You're free to interpret the numbers however you wish, as I will. Combined mins and total goals speak volumes. We have an unproductive group of forwards. Huge amounts of money has been misspent on acquiring 'boringly normal' footballers.
  2. Chelsea's forward issues

The numbers speak for themselves. Huge transfer fees, crazy wages, thousands of minutes played and a paltry 13 goals league goals in return. And Pulisic is the only one from the fab five to log PL minutes at WB. That's what happens when 1) there's injuries and 2) when the player is so bad at his preferred position the manager has to try and figure out other ways they can contribute.
  3. Squad Status: 2021/22 Season

Since the summer of 2017 Chelsea have spent approximately £793m on players. The wage bill as it stands: Source - In the four full seasons since we've spent £793m on players we have finished on average 27 points behind the champions. We are 13 points off the pace this year and this gap will likely balloon again over the coming weeks. Balanced budget indeed.

Perhaps but he's never really been one to go wild after a goal. Not that he scores often enough anyway so who knows.
  5. Chelsea's forward issues

Men lie. Women lie. Numbers don't. 13 goals in 44x90s is diabolical by any standard.

That's just how Ziyech is. Has everybody forgotten how he celebrated after scoring for Ajax at Stamford Bridge?
  7. Chelsea's forward issues

Update following Ziyech's rare goal last night (19/01/2022) In a combined 3,972 minutes of Premier League football this season, the fab 5 who cost 311m have scored 13 Premier League goals between them. When did they last score in the league? Werner - 2nd October Havertz - 6th November Lukaku - 29th December Pulisic - 2nd January
  8. Chelsea's forward issues

So teams sitting back excuses the pitiful return from £311m worth of forwards?
  9. Brighton 1 Chelsea 1

Meant more that winning a cup is our aim. We are not a serious player for the Premier League title and haven't been for 5 seasons. We're a 'qualify for top 4 and see what happens in the cups' club now. You don't finish 30 points on average behind the champions 4 years in a row if you aren't.
  10. Brighton 1 Chelsea 1

It is but we are a cup team. We are not built to win a league title. 30 odd points behind the champions every year for the last 4 seasons confirms that.
  11. Brighton 1 Chelsea 1

It's the most likely route to silverware so I doubt we'll bin it until we get a serious squad again that wants both PL & CL success in the same season.

The serious questions be answered by the people wasting obscene amounts of money on subpar players. No manager in world football would do better than Tuchel is right now and a lot of them would be considerably worse.
  13. Brighton 1 Chelsea 1

Mount's having a stinker. Jorginho is having his usual game.
  14. Brighton 1 Chelsea 1

Good lord, Jorginho trying to tackle Webster there. He was still diving as the player had past him.

That's what happens when the attacker doesn't have enough pace to be decisive in open space. Ziyech can't run and CHO isn't confident enough to really test fullbacks for whatever reason (maybe a psychological thing from the achilles, who knows).
