£50m for Pogba would do. Or £60m + Cuadrado. ;-)
  2. Chelsea 2 Paris Saint-Germain 2 (AET)

The thing with the Zlatan red is he had both feet off the ground when he connected with Oscar - ref will say he wasn't in control of the tackle. The biggest shock other than another penalty not given is how Verratti has not been booked yet. Unfathomable.

As long as he can win it and just pass it 5 yards I'd be happy.

Would definitely prefer Zouma at DM over Cahill - he's got pace and physicality - if he gets turned he can at least outpace/outmuscle the oppo - am worried Cahill will see the game pass him by.

Perhaps he'll stick Zouma on Erickson just to rough him up.

I can't believe we're suddenly switching to 3 at the back - maybe it'll be Zouma and Rambo holding with Cesc in the No.10?

    And First Row now...

There's a stream on ATDHE at the moment...

Watching Soccer Saturday which started at noon - been on for 75 minutes now and Chelsea have not even been mentioned. They've looked at Newcastle, Villa, United, Sunderland, Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal, Everton, Spurs and QPR. Considering we were the standout performers last week and Fabregas the stand out player it's ridiculous.

Been listening to White Lung this week - it hasn't clicked for me yet but I'm giving it time. In the same vein I do recommend Perfect ***** - Say Yes to Love; it's short but sweet, like a cross between Big Black and Sonic Youth. Heal by Strand of Oaks is a pretty good listen too.

Went to see Cloud Nothing at The Scala a couple of weeks ago - they were great. Really recommend their latest album Here and Nowhere Else. Off to see Angel Olsen in September and in November I just got tickets for Ty Segall who is far and away my favourite artist of the last 3 years - prolific and incredible live. If I was to urge people to listen to anything it would be him - released 3 albums last year (4 if you include Fuzz, his sludge rock offshoot) - all of them were amazing.

Disappointed, as I thought we were in control of the game until they equalised. We hadn't created much but we looked like we had them contained - just needed to see out the half and rinse and repeat for the next 45. The penalty did for us - letting them get ahead played right into their hands. I'm gutted we didn't go through but less so than on previous occasions as it was all above board and we just lost it on the night - nothing really contentious apart from the ref's reluctance to actually book any of their players until an hour had passed. On another night we'd have gone through but I'm not gonna start bitching like a scouser - we try again next season with an improved squad and more experience.

As much as I admire his workrate, attitude and application I'd love to see him a) take a few more shots, we've seen he has the ability to score from range; and b) take players on a bit more - he has pace to burn but he's more of a push and run merchant than a dribbler - I would like to see him drop his shoulder a bit more and hit the afterburners. In general I'm happy enough with his contribution thus far though.

Well, after 2 days I have finally calmed down enough to type, after nearly throwing the TV out of the window following Shearer/Hansen's 'analysis' on MOTD - a self-induced media blackout followed until last night when I cracked and checked the score in the Budgies/Mickeys game. Talk of conspiracy does sound fanciful in the cold light of day, but the rank incompetence of decisions recently does leave me incredulous to say the least. First off though, I have to say we've only got ourselves to blame for throwing away a title (barring a scouse collapse of Devon Loch proportions) that we'd manage to put in our own hands with 4 games to go. Our complete inability to pierce the flat back 11s that relegation fodder present us with is so frustrating it is giving me a bloody ulcer - first order of business pre-season is to sort that sh!t out and come up with plans B,C and D as I cannot bear to watch another game of us shuttling along the 18 yard line from left to right for 90 minutes trying to find an opening - it's like watching a pornstar with brewer's droop. With regards the decisions on Saturday, I'm still baffled by most of them like the rest of you. There was the deliberate handball at one stage which I'm pretty sure Schurrle got cautioned for the other week which seemed to pass without a word; the ridiculous disallowed goal where we were pulled up for a 'push' which comprised of about 10% of the force imparted upon Ramires when he was trying to head into an empty net. I'm not sold on the handball penalty call, look accidental to me, but the penalty we conceded was an absolute joke. To hear Shearer describe it as 'stonewall' was an utter disgrace - Dave slid in and missed him completely with his leading leg, then you can see the striker make a move towards his trailing leg to make sure he catches it. Utterly ridiculous call, but completely par for the course recently. Refereeing conspiracies are hard to believe - utter incompetence however is almost a pre-requisite for Chelsea games. What is not in dispute is the media love-in with all things Liverpudlian which sees us cast as villains and them as dashing crusaders of the beautiful game. Well, they'll be back at Europe's big table next season, let's see if their fans can get us all banned from Europe again, or gatecrash a stadium somewhere with fake/stolen tickets and cause some disaster. Ah well, a CL final would make up for a lot of it. C'mon you blues!
