Yep. Never understood the abuse he got on here. I've said before I don't see what he does wrong, in fact, he is a player that is very consistent and makes the right choice. I think the problem is people want a player in that position like Roberto Carlos who bombs up and down the flank - an 'exciting' type! On Emersons last two performances he would be pushing Chilwell for that starting position
  2. Euro (2020) 2021

Agreed. Pretty certain with our Tommy Tuchel in charge we'd have walked it. Southgate had a bench available that is stronger than arguably all the other teams. I thought we crept over the line in most games when really we should have been dominant.
  3. Euro (2020) 2021

I have felt bad for not having the same feeling as I do Chelsea. I watch the rugby, Olympics, tennis, cricket, any sport and support our team's from a purely patriotic stand point. When it comes to the football team I struggle for all the reasons mentioned above! I have moments where I get patriotic and into it but, then they're undone when things like Kane or Sterling diving happen.

Well said Jane! You're definitely not alone. I want England to win but it is bitter sweet. I hate egging the likes of Harry diving Kane on, I hate watching Shaw over Chillwell, I hate the thuggish play of Maguire, I hate how boring Southgate is and knowing that Holland is the real mastermind behind it, I hate the fans that jump onto the bandwagon and believe they're experts after watching 5 games in four years, I hate the hype the team is given when we've had one real test in Germany, I hate how we have our better players on the bench yet because were blessed with an amazing 23 we still win and Southgate still gets the plaudits, I hate how the England team don't get to express themselves and play safe, I hate how this is only the euro's (League cup) and not the world cup (fa cup) but still they're trying to compare to 1966. However, after all that when I hear the national anthem I become all patriotic and the hairs do still stand on end. I do want us to win and I do cheer a goal. BUT it's not Chelsea. Watching the German game with no Chelsea but three of ours on for the Germans ruined it for me. I wanted to get super excited like everyone else appeared to be but, I just wasn't. I was happy we were through but I wasn't buzzing like I am after a Chelsea v palace win.. The games I've watched in the pub I've been more into because you get more of a sense of us against them. I managed to get tickets for the Italy Spain game and it was a brilliant atmosphere. I was in there repeatedly chanting Jorginho. Leaving Wembley I'd encouraged 500+ Italians to also be singing and then onto Wembley way.
  5. Looks brilliant! Think I'll do the same! Still meaning to do the Munich one too although my tickets are a little crumpled!
  6. Euro (2020) 2021

Went to the Spain Italy game. Had a great time singing Jorginho, Zola, Ancelotti, and Di Matteo songs. Watched all the England games at home. It's good but, it's not Chelsea.. want to get more into it so I'll be getting myself down to a pub. Watching Chelsea it's natural and I'm fully invested in any and every game. With England I need to be in a pub and make a proper occasion of it. Is it just me or are others the same?

Are we really going after a player that can't get into the Wolves team on a consistent basis?
  8. Euro (2020) 2021

Gilmour had a decent game. But I agree with you. I think he has the potential to be Jorginho's successor but, he isn't above him at this point in time. He should be phased in. The press love a Scape goat(Kane/Southgate) and a hero(Gilmour). Overall, England were better but, the tactics were all wrong
  9. Euro (2020) 2021

It's amazing how many Chelsea are covering the punditry! Where are they during the premier League season

Seen a few reports linking us to Ramos. I would like to see him here on a short term but, not sure how the ref's would takes to him here lol ;)
  11. Yep. Would love this too - not sure I can get that one through finance! I keep koi carp and it's always been on my list of places to visit!
  12. Agree mate. I spend at least 6 weeks there with work. There are still places/nights that are non English 😉 will be the perfect place providing there is no trouble. I'll be going, will obviously cost me more brownie points!
  13. Super cup to remain in Belfast. Anybody going? Love Belfast but, would hope it doesn't kick off... (Not the game ;) I went to the Monaco one and was one of about 500 Chelsea fans amongst 18000 atletico Madrid fans. Football was terrible but, the trip was still great
  14. We were flight 8. 7.35 out and 2.05 return..
  15. Me and the people I travelled with received the NHS 10 day isolation text/call today! Obviously someone's day 2 test came back positive on the flight. Just adds to the story and the occasion! Lol
  16. We've got super Tommy Tuchel, he knows exactly what we need, Rudi at the back, Havertz in attack, Chelsea won the champions League. This is one I got going before the match. Obviously last line was going to win and not won 🤣 champions of Europe is a great song, simple but great!! Think it was the first to be sung on the final whistle. Although there was also a Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea.
  17. It was a great trip and well worth every penny and all the hassle! Just got back. 4am-9am straight - feel like I've earnt a rest. Until tomorrow when I take the kids camping! Still hasn't sunk in! We only seemed to get nervous as fans when we saw the board go up with 7mins! Our fans were great. City's were so quiet. Thought they'd have been really up for it but, maybe they just expected the win
  18. At the airport. Long day. Champion's of Europe, we know what we are!
  19. Had my PCR test back in just 4.5hrs! Portugal, Portugal we are coming!
  20. I think I'm lucky and have done this as cheap as possible.. ticket £60, plane £199, PCR £59, day 2 £45. So that's approx £360 all in. Then there is getting to and from Gatwick that I'm still to workout as the trains at Clapham are a no go. When you add the extras on you're looking at £500 cheapest. I would've gone for the £60 or the £154 tickets. Not sure I'd have gone as far as the £300 and £500 tickets seeing as I also just renewed the season ticket and just shelled out on the family holiday...
  21. Yeah, that's what we used for Torres originally too until it changed to his Scouse one.. Olay Olay Mason Mount mount mount
  22. Nice one! we're on the 7.30 flight. Suspect the fan park will be buzzing! I'll be the one singing the Timo Werner to the old Hazard tune. - I know he has the old Torres song but, think we can get both going ;) Forgot to say that the second verse is Hakim Ziyech to the same tune - original I am..... ;)
  23. Both teams wearing their home shirts. Wasn't a fan in the league but maybe the TV made them look like they clashed more than they actually did!
  24. What I've read you need the PCR to be valid for both legs - there was an email out this morning from Sports Breaks: "1) Negative PCR COVID-19 test As per government guidelines, all people travelling between the UK and Portugal must show proof of a negative PCR covid-19 test before boarding. The test must be taken within 72 hours of departure of both your outbound and return flight*. You will need to find a test provider prior to the day trip, making sure the provider meets the standards for pre-departure testing, as per the government website. As per the guidance, this should not be an NHS test. *You must ensure that the negative PCR test is valid upon your re-entry back into the UK, in the morning of Sunday 30th May 2021. Check your test result identifies the type of test taken and gives your name, date of birth, the date and time the sample was collected and the date of the result." The City website also indicates that they should get their PCR done Thursday. However, having said this I think there's going to be a lot of people that are in the same boat at Porto airport so I can't see them not allowing people to return for a PCR that is a few hours over the 72 hour limit... The day-2 test is a requirement to prevent the need to isolate.
  25. mate with the boots one it says 24-48 hrs from receiving at lab.. If you take the test Thursday so it's valid for the return you might be at risk of not getting the results back..
