Singing in Shed lower has diminished of late, mainly due to removal of racism (Spurs songs), bad language (Liverpool and match official related), sexist (celery) etc. Perhaps we need one politically incorrect match a year (Dippers or Spuds) where the old songs can be nurtured and passed on to the youth as our legacy, but more importantly so that we can be reminded how far we have come as woke, caring humans (and incidentally to have a f*c*ing good sing song).
A propos incorrect stewarding, my daughter - then eight - was told she couldn’t hang her silk Chelsea scarf over the balcony of the West Upper (so mummy would know where we were when she looked on the telly), as it might fall on the people below. They were corporate sponsors. And had pints of beer on the edge of their balcony.
