Don't know how Hiddink will lineup the team for this one - especially whether Drogba and Anelka will play together. A.Cole is missing because of suspension (though he gets a rest before Juve).

Here's now I'd like to see them lineup:

Cech

Ivanovic - Alex - Terry - Ferreira

Mikel

Bosingwa - Ballack - Lampard

Drogba - Anelka

Subs: Hilario, Carvalho, Mancienne, Deco, Quaresma, Kalou, DiSanto/Stoch

Cech

Ivanovic - Alex - Terry - Ferreira

Mikel

Deco - Lampard - Kalou

Drogba - Anelka

Deco seriously deserves to be given a chance over the poor showing Ballack has produced. If not Deco, then Belletti.

The Deco question is here again. I completely agree with him being given a chance moreover it would unite the squad as Deco need not be ostracised (intentionally or not). The problem though is, he has no pace to get past defenders, he is not a good crosser of the ball. (neither is Kalou but the latter does deflect attention by running with the ball though aimlessly at times) So with the above formation we are going to be quite narrow and depend heavily on FBs. It could turn into; Scolari is gone, welcome Scolari

Judging how he usually played with PSV I'd say:

Cech

Ivanovic - Alex - Terry - Ferreira

Ballack - Mikel - Lampard

Quaresma - Drogba - Kalou

But I doubt he'll drop Anelka.

That looks good to me. Take out Drogba and fit Anelka in there, and you have something effective. Separating Ballack and Lampard is a good idea as they always get in each other's way.

instead of them attacking us with their wingers, why not fight fire with fire. use our wingers to neutralise theirs. play ivanovic at LB to make sure that milner or young doesnt get behind him. why would you change a winning team formula. Hiddink is no mug and is exactly like capello: will play the players who are on form and deserve a place in the starting line up. does anyone know if ricky or bosingwa were at the training session today and if so will they be ready for saturday?

great. a day that in the past we have only won once against a team that we haven't won against in nearly 10 years. the signs dont look good but records are there to be broken.
