Dream of Hazard being unmotivated for 19/20, and leaving on a free next year?

If his public persona is reflective of his private thoughts, then he would understand and empathise with us re: Madrid's audaciously low bid.

That'll learn 'em not to spend a kings ransom on Jovetic.

This is where the " well, we value Kovacic @ £ .... comes in "

Salou 21

I’ve supported Chelsea since the 1990’s and for the first time I’m getting fed up. There is not stability at the club. It looks like 2 mangers in 2 years. Just as one manager comes in, gets used to the club, the league and the squad of players, there off. Bring in a new manager, start all over again. We NEED stability. Even if we finish 5th in the league, keep the manager and let them try and impose their philosophy onto the team. We get a new manager who will come in, they are immediately under pressure so won’t play the youth and play the older experienced players because the club demands instant success which is far fetched now a days! There’s ultimately 6 top teams challenging for 4 places. So every season, 2 big teams don’t get in the Champions League. In terms of transfers, part of me wouldn’t mind the ban because we’d have no choice but to turn to youth. Players like Reece James, CHO, Mount and Tammy have all proven they are good enough for first team football. Yes they did it in the Championship but they need to be given an opportunity. Otherwise they will leave. And we will try and sign them in a few years for a far inflated fee.

You're not serious?

By the time the PL starts again, we will have lost Hazard, and be left with the following forwards:

Pedro (32), Willian (31), Giroud (33 in September), possibly Higuain (31) and CHO (18 and injured) and Pulisic (20)........not a single forward in their 20s. We need to sign at least 2, possibly 3 depending on who stays

Our midfield contains Jorginho, Kante, Barkley, RLC (injured) and Kovacic. ........4 fit players for 3 positions (if Kovacic stays). Woefully short.

Certainly we are dreadfully short at AM - have been for 3 seasons now.  And even more short of a decent CF (I like Tammy, love him, but it would be a big bet to start with him).
And assuming we get this window we have to get at least 4 big players in. We actually need 6, and the following Summer window will not be till 2021.

One of those would be the CM/No8, but I really wouldn't worry about back up.  After Jorginho and Kante, we have Kovacic, Barkley, Drinkwater, RLC, van Ginkel, Baka, kenedy, Baker, Mount, and James and Ampadu could play there too (and Azpi).
In midfield, like everywhere else, it will be more a question of who we can move out.

If the ban remains, that is the preferable option.

If Hazard goes, and we can't buy anyone, I would suggest we have no chance of top 4 next season.

Top 4 next season is highly optimistic as it is.

We are often given no chance of top 4 or silverware on this forum, for varies reasons. And regularly finish top four and win silverware.

But, realistically, I think zero signings may render next season consolidation/evolution than a bumper success

The more we should keep the manager and not rock the boat further. If Sarri leaves it's not because we have tried all we could to make him feel happy to stay.

Yes, in fact usually when we don't make top 4 it is the season after a major success and you think there's no chance we will drop out of top 4!
