We pretty much let Higuain walk out the door. Not that he was necessarily the answer. But having him around would have been better than the potentially huge gamble we are about to take on Tammy possibly.

Seriously mate, Higuain was a waste of space, and simply took up valuable time in the canteen - I'd suggest that we didn't 'let' him walk out the door, we drove him to the airport!. An embarrassment last season, and would have been more of the same moving forward. Good to be shot of him.

Giving a club 31m for a over 30's has-been would have been stupidity of the highest degree.

Right. We only tolerate strikers who don't score if they cost us an arm and a leg. But strikers who don't score that cost us nothing are 'huge gambles'.

Telegraph reporting SFL would "merge academy with first team to encourage progression". Not sure how that would work.

Perhaps Jody picked up on a feeling of exclusion amongst the development boys and wants to redress that.

It's got to be a good thing to include the up and coming youth with the first team , give them a feeling of belonging , make them feel they have a chance with us instead of feeling they have to move out to move up .

Even if nothing comes of it and none of them make the grade.
