On Thiago Silva going off injured: "I saw Thiago with a big strap around his muscle but we have to wait. It's worrying because it's a muscle injury."

Massive loss for us. Hopefully no a long term injury. He was BOSSING the entire spurs frontline without breaking a sweat before the injury.

Massive result for the lads. Jorginho/ Kovacic are not everyone's cup of tea but truth be told, they absolutely controlled the midfield today (kante has work to do to displace either player). With better execution upfront, this game, like the 2 prior games under TT, would've been long out of sight. All in all, I can't complain too much given were we were before TT's arrival. Onwards and upwards.

Reporter exchange with Jose:

I asked Jose why he didn’t bring Bale on. He said ‘good question but you don’t deserve an answer’

He can be good for a laugh. Though I guess not many Spurs fans are smiling right now.

Don't disagree that Jorginho was great btw!

Jorginho was great, but Kovacic was greater. He bossed his defensive role, giving nothing  away to Spurs till the minute he was subbed. Jorginho did okay in his attacking role. But we must stop celebrating mediocrity.

Jorginho is playing in a similar role to KDB, David Silva, and similar central attacking midfielders in Europe. He has to measure his performance to them if we are to become a top team; create goals, take the ball past someone and open up defence, or hit a defence splitting passes. These little passes here and there are okay, but not good enough for any team of the highest rank.

A month ago I'd have gone into half time fearing the second half after having only scored the one. This game I was vaguely optimistic. Wow. Nice feeling.

Divine inspiration. Thanks to him.

Thanks Moon. I am just relieved Jorginho scored because if he missed I feared my Dad would haunt him 🤣

I agree, a higher output is required, not too much to ask of a 57 million pound player.

If we are still considered a mid-table team, then I just want to go on record as stating that we are top of the mid-table league standings!

Mendy did well tonight. Good passing, safe hands, very good stop from Lamela. Interstingly didn't dive for Vinicius’ header.

Thought he was awful. Risky in possession, and completely wrong footed for that Dier free kick, which would have gone in, on target in the right hand half of the goal.

I thought Kante was poor :(

Yup. So much easier to control possession when you play with your best footballers. Azpi / Rudiger instead of Zouma and Kova and Jorginho instead of Kante. Have said it for ages but Kante playing in a team that wants to dominate the ball is nowhere near as effective as a Kante playing in a counter attacking team.

Should have won comfortably. We missed chances to create chances, rather than missing actual chances. If they'd have nicked a late equaliser, we'd have only had ourselves to blame.

Some on here seem to have forgotten, we have a lot of very good players. we should dominate most matches. I'd say with a fully fit squad Liverpool and City have better starting XIs, but only City have a better squad. Look at the two subs benches tonight, it's chalk and cheese. Look at the subs Liverpool were bringing on to try and turn the game around against Brighton. That is why this season has been such a let down

We should be an 85 point team yes.  Still a bit early to see if we get 40+ in second half of season.  or whether 69+ will get us a CL place - we need to play more strong teams, not just Spurs on a bad day.
