I was really enjoying Werner play before his goal.  such a hard worker, so committed to the team.  Really rapid - Robben like pace, Lampard like reliable hamstrings.

I want 4-0.  If I were an oppo scout watching the last 4 games, I'd say, good team but we will always be in with a shout because they don't turn possession into goals.
We need a big score to get the next team really worried.  (and another clean sheet)

Not a penalty. In fact it was a very good tackle by the NCL defender.

The injury was self-made, unfortunate. Not deliberate by the defender, as far as I saw it

I have always thought that if you step across to block a clean tackle, they you commit the foul, and that even you should get booked for it.  The danger in the dangerous play may be on you, but you caused it.
So in a way I'm glad that is how the ref saw it.  (But most refs would have given it as a penalty)

It wasn’t like that against Sheffield. This type of game has suited Jorginho. Newcastle press isn’t as organised as Sheffield was.

I got the feeling that Kovacic was not pressed in recent games, and that the idea was to stop Jorginho from having time on the ball.  As a result I thought he was terriffic in making short passes to a Kovacic who had a lot of space to play in.

This time they both have time and space and Jorginho is looking great in a more obvious way.

He did a fine pick-up out by the 16-meter line around 9 minutes played :)

I’ve tried google translate but I’m still not sure what this means! 😃

Not an amazing half, but a decent half. Newcastle not threatened at all.

Kovacic been fantastic to watch, when he is in this form he's such an asset to this team.

CHO had a bit of a wobble in last 10 mins of that half, but good to see him get back and defend when needed.

Werner been really good again, seems to like working on the left with Alonso and created lots of good space and chances and got his goal, finally! Let's hope he now kicks on.

Agree - but I think we were "decent agressive"

I do hope that Kova can grow in this role. But as someone already pointed out, Newcastle's tactics is not really offering much of a test.

It means he picked up the ball when a NCL player made a long pass to Gayle - intervention, it's called?

Yup. We keep the ball brilliantly when Kante isn't there

I'd like someone who could nick the ball off City once or twice a game too.
