He should have clocked with the Barnsley game.

Maybe he did and maybe he is not that bothered. Finishing 4th and or winning the champions league will be far more important to him.

Interesting afternoon and we continue the unbeaten streak though not without a few scares.

But for poor Sheffield finishing we might have ended up in extra-time.

The first match this season where I thought Pulisic is back to the best of last season's form.

Ziyech took his goal very well, not sure that ball was meant for him yet he controlled and finished very well.

CHO had a poor game didn't seem to be able to find space and then miscommunication with other players about whether the ball was going to feet or space.

Kovacic was superb in the first half yet struggled to make an impact in the second.

Thought Azpi was going to concede a penalty while wresting with McGoldrick and for a spell we could not seem to get the ball and then Emerson won a challenge and dribbled past the next man putting us back on the front foot.

Tuchel made the point about lack of energy in training following a lot of matches which probably explains some of his selection.

Our worst game so far under TT (though Martin1905 makes some good points copied below).
TT himself post  match referred to it being an off day, and I suppose it was a bit anti-climatic after the big AM tie.
So perhaps we should worry more about the individual performances that the team's.

Emerson can be pleased he was picked, playing 2 positions in the week, neither of them LB or LWB.  He is at least a utility player, and just had to complete the game without error at LCB, which he did.
Zouma I thought was extremely good.  A good example of how well TT has kept the squad together as Zouma has effectively gone from first choice CB to 5th choice, but is probably playing better than before.
Kepa - good game.

None of the other starters can be pleased with themselves.
Giroud reminded us that if he doesn't score he adds very little to the team and takes the run off the defender's shoulder option away, especially the way we play now.
Gilmour just didn't look anywhere near the quality Chelsea require.  He is a highly talented prospect that should be on loan, catching up with Guehi, Ampadu and Gallacher.
CHO was done a huge favour by TT with the creation of the WB role for him, but he really needs to using the opportunities he gets now.  TT treats him as a first team candidate, not a youth getting a few chances, and he needs to play accordingly.
Christensen, Kovacic, Chilwell, Mount have all had much better games in the past.
Pulisic may have been given MOTM by Keown, but that was more about lack of alternatives.  He reminded me of the Hazard of Chelsea in one way, but the Hazard of RM in another.

Does Chilwell know how to play a 1, 2? Seriously that boy just stands in place when he gets past the half way line.

See the last minute goal! :)   But it was certainly the high point of his game today

Enjoyed that, tough game against a very physical, rejuvenated Sheffield United team who were far more like they were last season.

Difficult and we maybe rode our luck but that was probably our toughest game under Tuchel and we came through it with yet another clean sheet.

Winning games when you dont play well is more important than winning well. Sign of a very good team.

It was I admit an entertaining game.  And Sheff U put up a fight, while doing the old Allardyce/tough PL team to beat trick of leaving their attempt to get a goal back until the last 15 mins when we were less likely to be ready to counterattack.

And yes clean sheets are important.

Thought Zouma was MoTM. Yes he doesn’t offer much going forward, but he’s great defensively

Good point, and indeed the FAC is not that important.

yeah, very well.
From our set of superstars up front:  Werner, Havertz, Pulisic, Ziyech, none are really playing like superstars yet, but they are all getting better and better and the competition is suddenly for who gets picked rather than who gets dropped.

Tell that to Liverpool for last year's CL exit due to Adrian's **** ups

Fortunately we don't have the victim mentality here, do we?

We've not really put in a performance in the FA Cup yet this season, have we? And yet still made the semi-finals.

Hudson-Odoi and Pulisic should, I think, be worried about their Chelsea careers. Neither have taken any chances Tuchel has given them and it's difficult to see where future chances will come from given how important every game left will be.

Odd to see McGoldrick go from not being able to score against anyone but Chelsea to missing a sitter against us!

There’s no doubt those competitions are far more important but to rotate that heavy just makes the team lack rhythm. Luck was on our side today.

Not going to lie, would have much preferred a comedic Arsenal defeat here. Just because I always enjoy them and there'll be other opportunities for West Ham to lose points.
