Chelsea 0 Porto 1 (2 - 1 on aggregate)

I always think it is dangerous to go out to contain rather than try to win. I think we need to hold control but have a goal threat at the very least, Porto showed enough to suggest they are capable of turning the tie on its head.

Expect to see a lot of diving and cheating from Porto, much like AM did.

They did a lot in the first leg........one of the biggest culprits was the no17 who then messed up for our 2nd goal. Always nice when karma bites so quickly.

Unless there are some injuries I've missed I expect;

                                                        Mendy

                                      Azpi - Christensen - Rüdiger

                              James - Kovacic - Jorginho - Chilwell

                                                Mount - Werner

                                                       Havertz

I think Kova is injured. Kante to come in

Tuchel being coy about Kante being ready, but I expect he is.

Just to speculate though, if only Jorginho is available, and with Gilmour not even on the plane (see every other curse from me and a few others about him not being on loan),
who might play?

I'm sure he'd want to keep the same 343 pattern.
For me the candidates alongside Jorginho are Mount, James and Azpi.  All give up something elsewhere.
Mount is the AM most able to drop back into CM to provide more cover during the game.
Azpi is the magic that makes the back 3 work - glue when we want to be tight - flexible when we don't, and smart at playing the right role at the right time.
James (like Chilwell) is the WB who can play as a FB when you have a 2-0 lead.  And today is a game to start with the safe option a RWB.

My call is Kante, and if not then a back 3 of Christensen - Silva - Rudiger
with one of James and Azpi playing CM and the other RWB

any truth to the rumour that Kova is injured?

Heard a few rumours Kova was out, but there are pictures of him training. I imagine it would be Kante and Jorginho anyway to be honest

The fact Jorginho was taken off at 3-0 on Saturday tells us he starts.

Set up for Werner, I feel, as they have to come out, and the counter attack must be an option. He probably comes in at the expense of Pulisic, which seems harsh after Saturday.

Edit - and has to be James at RWB as the superior defender

Seems that Kova is out and Kante will start, which is fine, but I’d be surprised if Kante lasted the 90 mins, so I would expect Mount to drop back in when the change is needed.
